Computex is really starting to ramp up now, as ASUS has taken the covers off its brand new Eee Pads - a Macbook Review

Computex is really starting to ramp up now, as has taken the covers off its new Eee Pads

Computex is really starting to ramp up now, as ASUS has taken the covers off its brand new Eee Pads. Of most interest will be the 12-inch EP121, which sports Intel’s Core 2 Duo CULV processors, Windows 7, and a reputed 10-hour Asus A42-A6 battery life. Sort of like a sans the keyboard, you might say, which is probably why ASUS is also touting a “hybrid” dock/keyboard solution for those times when you want some more tactile feedback to your typing

Fujitsu(Fujitsu LifeBook P7120 Battery)’s Lifebook P770 places a strong emphasis on portability without compromising on performance, with the inclusion of a low-voltage Intel Core i7 processor.

MSI(MSI BTY-S11 Battery) has shown for the first time its laptop computer with a keyboard that flips over to reveal a sensor pad for pen input. The Sketch Pad, which is still a prototype, was unveiled at the same time the company launched a Windows 7-based tablet PC.

When you get a new laptop everything is working perfectly given that you’ve got the good fortune and it’s not dead on arrival. Then things start to wear and tear, here’s a crack, there is a dent but the UM08A31 battery often dies rather fast, and that’s not a natural consequence of age. Lithium-Ion batteries die on their own, but not in the one year time frame some people manage to kill theirs.

The Core i5 processor at the heart of the NV7901u is an improvement from the Core i3 in the NV7915u, and its advantages are most obvious in its improved multitasking benchmark scores. In terms of overall specs, this Gateway is a close match to the Samsung NP-R580 we liked quite a bit in the last retail round-up. It performs nearly identically to other Core i5 laptops, including the Lenovo(Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 Battery) IdeaPad Y460.

Hitachi and LG(LG BTY-M52 Battery) have officially announced the HyDrive, an optical drive/solid state disk (OD/SSD) combo unit for notebook computers. It fits into the spot normally occupied by an optical drive. The first generation drives will feature either 32GB or 64GB of NAND flash memory and a SATA 3.0Gbps interface.

The RoG Connect feature is worthy of particular mention. An I/O-mounted, RoG-specific USB port enables you to hook the board up to another system/notebook that runs Windows and then overclock/tweak the Crosshair IV Formula remotely, which is very cool.

A contender for one of the best-looking AMD boards to date? Perhaps, and ASUS(Asus M6000N Batteries) has hit the nail on the head with the AMD Radeon-inspired red-and-black colour scheme set against angular heatsinks.

So what’s not to like about the Zeros, and electric bikes in general? Well, at least for now, your range is very limited. The Zero guys say that you’ll get between 30 and 60 miles to a charge, depending on how you ride. So you’re not going to be making that ride to Yellowstone on a Zero any time soon. Besides, loading it up with luggage would only serve to reduce laptop battery life even further.

The MacBook(MacBook 13 MA255_A Battery)’s keyboard is full size, with keys that are curved to contain your fingers and highly responsive to your touch. Its low-profile design integrates perfectly into the unibody enclosure, so you’ll get a comfortable experience whether you’re typing a quick email or writing a lengthy research report. The keyboard also gives you one-touch access to music and video controls and Mac OS X features such as Dashboard and Exposé.

As with previous models, the new MacBook Pro features a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum, creating a thin and light mobile computing workhorse (less than 1 inch thin and just 5.6 pounds) that’s also highly durable. And it includes a 15.4-inch, LED-backlit glass display as well as a glass trackpad that doesn’t include a button (for larger tracking area) that features Apple’s Multi-Touch technology.

This version of the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro (model ) features a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 500 GB hard drive, and 4 GB of installed RAM. Other features include integrated Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth connectivity, an SD card slot, and two USB 2.0 ports (see full specifications below). It also comes with the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system as well as the iLife software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.

Key Features

Automatic Graphics Switching

The MacBook Pro offers excellent graphics flexibility with two video processors–the discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M processor (with 512 MB of GDDR3 video memory) for heavier workloads and an integrated Intel HD Graphics processor for better battery life on the go. When gaming or using processor-intensive applications like Aperture or Final Cut Pro, you’ll appreciate the power of the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M, which brings more realistic game environments and virtual worlds playing at high resolutions and fluid frame rates. And the automatic graphics switching feature determines which graphics processor an application needs and switches instantly between the processors.

Intel Core i7 Processing Power

The first level in Intel’s latest processor family, the dual-core Core i7 provides a fast, responsive computing experience for your everyday tasks as well as image management in iPhoto, video editing in iMovie, and enjoying your entire music and HD video collection in iTunes.

With Intel’s Turbo Boost technology, the Core i7 automatically speeds up your processor when it needs extra performance–making it a great match to processor-intensive applications like Aperture 3 or Final Cut Pro. The combination of greater L3 cache size and higher frequencies give you ultimate performance for the toughest tasks. And Intel’s Hyper-Threading Technology enables each core of your processor to work on two tasks at the same time, delivering the performance you need for smart multitasking.

Buttonless Multi-Touch Trackpad

With no button on the glass trackpad, there’s more room to track and click–left, right, center, and everywhere in between. Without a separate button, the trackpad gives your hands plenty of room to move on the large, silky glass surface. It also incorporates Multi-Touch gestures–including swipe, pinch, rotate, and four-finger swipe. And it also now supports inertial scrolling, an intuitive way to scroll through large photo libraries, lengthy documents and long web sites.

What You Can Do For a Macbook Battery Replacement - a Macbook Review

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 09:54 AM PDT

What You Can Do For a Macbook

The original Macbook computers and some later models have with replaceable batteries. The reason for this is that some of the older batteries are unable to hold a charge. The problem is how to go about replacing it. If it is under warranty, Apple will, of course replace it for free. If it isn’t under warranty it is very expensive to have Apple do the replacement but you will only be without your Macbook computer for a day or so. Your next option is to have an authorized repair shop replace the battery. There are many of these that can be found on the Internet. This is less expensive than having Apple replace the battery but you will probably be without your Macbook computer for three or four days. The last, and perhaps best, option that you have is to replace the battery yourself. If your Macbook computer is under warranty this will undoubtedly void the warranty but it is the least expensive option and requires you to be without your Macbook computer for the least amount of time. It isn’t all that difficult and all that is required is a little bit of technical knowledge and some mechanical knowhow. You can also find numerous replacement batteries for your Macbook computer on the Internet. Here is how to replace the battery in you Macbook computer. Turn your MacBook computer such that it is upside down and the Apple logo faces downward. The removable is under the bottom panel. You have a unibody Macbook computer if the bottom panel is a solid block and the battery in this Macbook computer can only be replaced by an Apple authorized service technician. Buy a replacement battery from a third party retailer, an Apple authorized reseller, or an Apple Store. Make sure that you only buy a battery that is specific to your model of MacBook computer. Batteries that are made for other Macbook computers might supply the wrong amount of power or might not fit in the . Using a coin, turn the circular lock slot of the battery clockwise ¼ turn or 90 degrees. The battery should then come out somewhat which will allow you to lift the battery by its out of the battery housing. Replace with the new battery the same location that the original battery was placed and line up the connector with the power jack in the Macbook computer. To lock the battery in position, turn the lock counterclockwise while pressing on the battery gently.

Useful guide to choosing the best macbook cover for you - a Macbook Review

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 03:54 AM PDT

Useful guide to choosing the best for

If you are one of the lucky few to have Macbook in your possession, then I am pretty sure that the optimum protection of your notebook is in the top of your checklist. To physically protect your notebook from scratches, dents, dings and accidental bumps, you will need a macbook cover at your disposal. In order to help you have the best macbook cover to suit you, just continue to read on and bear these simple guides in mind.

First to tick off the list is the size specifications of your macbook. If you are looking for the best macbook cover 13″, then there is a wide selection for you to choose from. These macbook covers are sorted out by color, depending on your personal preference.

The colors available are red, blue, light blue, green, black, red, pink and purple. If you are the one who goes for chic, sleek and stylish designs, then red might be the best pick for you. If, on the other hand, you prefer dainty and cute designs then pink, light blue and purple suits you best. However, if you are gearing towards the masculine end, then the colors blue, black and green might suit your taste the most.

To dig down deeper, if you are looking for a macbook cover compatible with a 13″ white macbook (unibody) with white keyboard then the blue and red are the best macbook covers for you. However, if on the other hand, you have the 13″ silver/aluminum macbook with black keyboard, then the light blue, purple, green, black and pink are the best macbook covers to suit your notebook.

In addition, all of the variants have the following benefits and features to offer you:
“    Slim, sleek and shiny

“    Rest assured that your notebook will stand out above the rest
“    Does not hamper with your comfort in using your notebook
“    Offers no extra baggage
“    Can be installed in ten short seconds
“    A rubber feet to avoid your notebook from slipping out
“    Hard cover protection for avoiding scratches, dents and other physical damage
“    Can be washed and dried easily.
“    Can be taken off easily
“    Vented macbook cover design to avoid overheating
“    All ports are within access

However, you should always bear in mind that keeping your macbook in tiptop condition does not end in just choosing the best macbook cover. The macbook cover will only be your secondary protector. The great bulk of work in protecting your macbook will always lie on your hands. Always take extra care and regrets will never knock at your door.  Happy day!

In the advent of technological advances, Apple Inc. launched Mac book in May 2006 to cater to the fast growing need of high-end computers. However, it is not easy to acquire such notebook. We all know that everything has a price and the price of Mac book is nowhere near cheap.

Options for Macbook Pro Battery Replacement - a Macbook Review

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 12:53 AM PDT

for Macbook Pro Battery Replacement

Apple’s MacBook Pro computers have a battery that is supposedly non removable. Although the unibody design will keeps the cost of the product and help to keep the MacBook Pros small in size, it also does away with the ability to rapidly replace the battery. The fact is that Apple says the battery isn’t removable at all unless the do the replacing. This is totally untrue. Either can have Apple replace the battery or can have a repair shop replace the battery or can replace the battery yourself. Having Apple replace it is the expensive (unless it is under warranty) and replacing it your self is the least expensive.

The MacBook Pro battery is removable. Although, it requires access to the bottom chassis, the battery is actually not hard to remove or to replace. The battery is secured in three places on the inside the MacBook Pro’s case. However, users can definitely replace the battery by themselves but it will probably void the warranty.

Here is all that you have to do to replace a MacBook Pro battery.

The first step that you need to do in order to replace your MacBook Pro battery is to identify the size of the laptop computer that you have. The 13″ and the 15″ models have a common battery design while the 17″ laptop computer has its own on account of the larger screen and therefore the requirement for additional power.

Next, you will have to contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, Apple Online, or an Apple retail store to get a replacement for your MacBook Pro battery. The 13″ and 15″ batteries both cost the same 9 plus tax and the 17″ battery is 9 plus tax. These prices both include the cost of installation.

It will depend on where you have the battery replace in the MacBook, but you will either need to take it to the Apple store or send it in via mail. The advantage of the Apple store is that they will replace the battery the same day. The option to mail the battery in usually takes somewhere between 3 to 4 days after the battery is received. The turnaround times for authorized service providers varies.

If you decide to replace the battery yourself there are detailed instructions on the Internet on how to do so. Your only other option is to have a repair shop replace the battery.
